“I have had a rather odd transition in my careers from studying French and German at University, joining the Civil Service, becoming a Metropolitan Police Officer, ( becoming Mum to 3 kids!), training as a Hairdresser and owning Children’s Hair Salons and eventually to Yoga Teacher! Hopefully that makes me well rounded, grounded and able to deal with most of life!
Keeping healthy physically and mentally through exercise has always been a part of my routine, taking up Yoga ‘post children’ – boy, did I wish I had found it earlier! My other ‘sporting’ love, which I share with all our family, is skiing – hence the Alpine ‘Snowga’ retreats, my solution to all life’s problems in one heavenly location. Yoga is so much more than exercise though. It encompasses every lesson we ever need in life and, especially in the modern world, this Ancient discipline is incredibly beneficial to everyone. Mental Health is perhaps a bigger problem than any medical issue of our day – the wonderful thing is that Yoga brings solutions for both, using many different approaches. We learn to live at ease with our ‘Self’ and with the World around us, thereby learning to take better care of both.
My belief in the power of Yoga drew me to teaching. The wish to share it with others brought me to open our homes to new and fellow Yogis. It also made me very aware of life balance and this is why we emphasise the ‘holiday’ in our retreats. We give you peaceful, beautiful environments, with optional fun and guaranteed relaxation. Whether you are joining us for a wonderful Walking weekend, a week of sliding down our snow covered mountains or an indulgent day or two in a tranquil hidden woodland oasis, I promise you will leave restored, happy and feeling of being part of a ‘bigger picture’!
I love all aspects of Yoga; the subtle and gross anatomical effects of physical practice, the powerful tool of Pranayama – our Breath, the restorative use of meditation, the history and ancient wisdom of the philosophy. I like to bring all these aspects to my lessons. My aim is always to teach Yoga to suit everyone present, bringing challenges, balance (metaphorically as well as on one leg!), space, ease, new ideas and a whole lot of fun – just as life should be!

Practicing for over 20 years Lucy is a Senior Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance and a British Wheel of Yoga L4 Diploma Teacher.
‘My teaching is about the functional & practical application of yoga as it applies to busy, hard-working people. I try to teach intelligent, useful movement & self inquiry in equal proportion; I invite my students to think about the why of it all, I’m into providing yoga that supports people with responsibilities, homes, families & jobs. If yoga is primarily about acquiring a steady mind, then I want to offer as many ways to achieve that as possible in my classes.
If you come on these retreats with life’s usual burdens on your shoulders, I want you to leave with a bit more space, both physical & mental & perspective. We provide a non-competitive, relaxed place, where you can listen to the subtle messages of your body & acknowledge where you’re really at.
I am a Yoga Alliance 500hrs SYT & I have a British Wheel Diploma & I am Level 3 Reps as well as being a certified Pregnancy & Postnatal Yoga, Hot Yoga & Restorative Yoga teacher. I am also a BWY Children’s Yoga Teacher with full, enhanced DBS.
I love restorative & Yin yoga & l love seeing clients readying themselves for a deeply relaxing session, getting their eyebags on & cosying up. I also am in awe of the power of pranayama, seeing the change in people’s practice when they access breath rather than effort. I also love to see people metamorphosize; to rid themselves of pain or restrictions’.
An ex-Olympic athlete, David is a Yoga Teacher and Yoga Sports Coach and is passionate about building a strong core and balance in both a physical and metaphysical sense.
‘I actually started yoga back in my early 20’s. As a full time athlete preparing for the 1984 Olympics I needed to find something to release the body from the strains of training. Back then it was the norm to over-train. When the body is faced with such extremes, injuries are frequent.
I completed my first 200hr teacher training in 2013 with YogaWorks, the oldest yoga school in America. I took a second teacher training with Katy Appleton at “Appleyoga”; she was the teacher in the Geri Yoga video and it became something of a quest to train with the teacher that enabled everything that had come since my tentative steps back to a life without pain.
Recently I’ve completed a 500hr Yoga Sports Science teacher qualification and can now call myself a Yoga Teacher and Yoga Sports Coach.
;I make classes have a nice flow, so that everyone can keep up. Having a bit of fun in the class is important to me; life can be tough and we can be even tougher on ourselves, so a smile, laugh and wobble gives a moment to relax. I hope that in some small way I can help people fall in love with Yoga, move a little easier, feel a little calmer.
